Let's Grow Together

We participated in MSU’s Job Fair. Here’s what we shared.

From our booth at Montana State University’s (Almost) Spring Job and Internship Fair last Thursday, we had ourselves some fun. Events like these are an opportunity for us to spread our passion for the trades and meet fresh faces who can help Williams grow into the future. Here’s what we shared.

The day was buzzing with interest and activity. Hundreds of students packed into the campus ballrooms to learn about career options and opportunities from over 180 employers. Virtually every major was represented, including those in our wheelhouse: Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Construction Technology.

The Williams team came prepared.

Our BIM manager, Chuck Schaeffer, showed off some of our most exciting technology. Among our favorite gadgets is the Microsoft HoloLens 2, which we’ve integrated with our virtual design and construction (VDC) software. Chuck gave students the opportunity to put on the mixed reality headset and see how we model piping and ductwork before we build. It was a hit.

Our HR manager, Megan Young, fielded questions about the myriad possible careers at Williams. Between our Williams Plumbing & Heating and our Williams Civil Construction teams, the opportunities are diverse. Williams Companies depends on a wide variety of people and skillsets. Project management, information technologies, engineering, finance, consulting, administration, accounting, customer service — the list goes on. Whether you’re a student intern or an experienced professional, we encourage our team members to create their own career paths.

Overall, MSU’s Job and Internship Fair was a major success. More than 50 students left resumes with Chuck and Megan for a potential internship or full-time position with Williams. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to learn more about our company, careers in the trades, and our awesome technology!
